Fireflies and Rootbeer Floats

Another Holiday Inn Express Breakfast awaited us this morning. Then we got into the car and drove straight to Kansas City. We did finish our audio book, book one of The Belgariad by David Eddings. It was very good and I would highly recommend it. I myself am going to go home and read it and then finish the series.
Anyway, upon arriving in Kansas City, we made a stop for gas and lunch at Costco (I love Costco)! And this was not just any Costco, this was David Cook's Costco! Blue Springs is his home town!
Then we arrived at Uncle Denny and Aunt Del's house (Chris' aunt and uncle). Aunt Del made a delicious dinner, with chicken, pork steaks, hot dogs, coleslaw, and beans. The weather in St. Louis is unusually cool and comfortable - no humidity. Then Aunt Barbara and Andy (my mom's cousin) came over. It was really good to see everyone. Aunt Del made us all root beer floats, which were so yummy. Then the fireflies started coming out. For those who live in Washington know we do not have fireflies, so it was really cool to see them. The boys just came in from catching them, and they caught about eleven! They are going to keep them overnight and use them as a nightlight. This has been such a fun day! Family is awesome, and so are root beer floats and fireflies.
