The Athens of the South

Uncle Tom loves me so much that he left his house this morning to buy fresh hot Mrs. Winner's cinnamon rolls for breakfast. They were, as always, delicious. After breakfast we loaded Big Red (our car) which groaned under the extra weight of Logan, Kim, and their bags. Then we made our way to Nashville, Tennessee, the Athens of the South. We discovered why it earned this name by visiting a full size replica of the Greek Parthenon. It was so awesome! Myles, Gavyn, and I got to go inside of the Parthenon, and see the 42 foot tall statue of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom. It was my favorite sight seeing stop on the trip so far.
Then we continued on to Knoxville, Tennessee. Chris and Kim wanted to stop at this burger place called Litton's, because it was in Chris' road food book. We took a twenty minute detour to get there, just to find out it was closed! So, then we turned around and came to our hotel, another Holiday Inn Express (which means another Holiday Inn Express breakfast!). Everyone was so hungry, so we went to a small local Mexican restaurant to have dinner. It turned out to have very good food. When we got back to the hotel, Logan, Myles, and Gavyn went swimming, and of course I got delegated to watch them. Now, finally, I am able to go to sleep.

  1. HA! You didn't give the name of the restraunt! I have it on insider info that there was a fabulous deep fried advocado stuffed with meat and surrounded with Montery Jack cheese that was to die for!
